Happy Mother’s Day to all you beautiful moms out there. Did you know that the original concept for Mother’s Day was born out of protest against war? The idea was for women to come together across national lines, to recognize what we hold in common above what divides us, and commit to finding peaceful resolutions to conflicts. Powerful thoughts that still reign true today.

On Sunday May 9th The Arboretum is having its annual Mother's Day Open House at the Queen Anne Cottage. Tours start at 10AM and the last tour will be at 3:30 PM.

Celebrate Mother’s Day at the Autry with a delicious buffet brunch on the plaza, unlimited champagne, and a free gift in the museum store. Brunch is $20 plus tax with reduced rates available for children. Regular museum admission fees apply. Admission to the museum includes our new exhibition, Home Lands: How Women Made the West, and museum teachers will be available for gallery tours at 1:00 p.m. Reservations are not required, but if you would like to reserve a table, please call 323-667-9060.

CRITTER presents Clone-Home, an afternoon open house for multiplying plants. Come with a few cuttings of your favorite plant(s) to share and trade with others.
